I had to make some changes

On Christmas Day last year my life changed. My wife got me a fitbit. Anyone who knows me knows how much I like technology, but also knows my days of being fit were pretty much behind me. Well that all changed on December 25, 2012. I still like technology and now I am equally as fond of getting fit because I was able to merge the two passions into one. I have worked out every day and I am down 18.5 lbs since jolly old St. Nick visited the house. I am actually down 30.5 lbs from my highest point, but those initial 12 lbs were lost over two+ years of start and stop spurts of eating better.

Moderation and clean living have really helped me. I am not changing my diet much, but I did drop drinking diet pop. I felt like I was going to die at times without the diet soda, but I pushed through and kicked it. Outside of that everything is now in moderation. I eat the same, but less. I take every chance I get to walk, use the stairs and get outside. I am not a runner, never have been and never will be. Everything is now measured in steps. I don’t have to be fast, I just need to be burning calories with each and every step.

Somewhere along the way I realized I push people all day long to be their best, but I wasn’t being my best. I was cheating myself of time by sitting around and not enjoying life. That has all changed. I have a long way to go, but I am focused and have found support in my family, friends and colleagues.

I am going to be the best possible ME each and every day (or step)!

Decide to dominate!
