Increasing the intensity

I have been focused the past week on turning the intensity up on my workouts. I have officially gotten back on the bike and my rides are getting longer and faster. I started with 10-15 miles at 15 mph and now am up to 16-20 miles at 17 mph. It feels good to be chasing riders down now after sitting on the couch all those years and only being worried about chasing the remote down.

I have had to focus hard on getting my step goal in. I still am consistently hitting 15,000 steps per day, but it hasn’t been easy with my morning rides. I could cheat and wear my Fitbit on my rides, but that would be double counting calories. I get off the bike and get onto the treadmill. If I can get 10,000 steps in each morning I can hit my goal throughout the day.

I am planning my days around my workouts. I now am focused on my workout intensity and how many steps / calories I need to burn in a day. This journey has been a learning process for me and I am enjoying it a lot. I passed the 40 pound loss mark last week and knew I needed to kick it into another gear to reach the 50 pound mark. It has been a good week and I am well on my way to hitting the 50 mark…no problem 🙂
