I have tested my will to work out the past two mornings. I have had two day trips in a row and both have come with the alarm ringing at 3 am.
I jumped on the treadmill both days and ran for 3.1 miles at a 9:40 average. I am finding when I only have 30 minutes I focus on getting the 5K done…quickly. It is nice to be able to kick the treadmill speed up as I go and my clock is ticking down.
I don’t recommend the 3 am wake ups and 5Ks as a sustained form of training, but I will say it is one heck of a nice way to get the blood flowing.
