Thursday run – slowing down on day two

After going with speed and distance yesterday my muscles told me a slower run today was best. Hammered out 5 miles at a 10 minute average. The key to the run today was listening to my body. Sure I could have pushed it, but I don’t want to risk injury.

I focused on stretching and cool down. Lots of stretching today…before and after my run. Don’t discount what 10 minutes of stretching before and after your run can do for you. Also, cooling down with a couple miles of walking goes a long way.

I have realized I am not young enough to dismiss what my body tells me. I don’t remember stretching much in my twenties, but I do it multiple times a day when I’m over forty.

Decide to dominate!
