I have been focused on hitting a 27:30 5K for a long time. I thought I had it last weekend, but I ended up at 27:45. It has been a goal that has escaped me until this morning.
I pushed hard and went out fast this morning. I kept focused on splits below 9 minutes. I knew if I could do that then 27:30 was a chance. I ended up at 27:26 and it felt great.
I am at a point in my short running career where it has turned from weight loss to overall fitness and goals. Shaving seconds never used to mean that much, it was all about pounds…not anymore. I’m pleased I can compete against myself, but now I can actually start to compete with others.
My focus has gone from pounds to seconds, but in the end it is all about years. I have extended my life by years through a change in lifestyle… way more time to spend with all of you and especially more time with my family.
Decide to dominate!
