I guess since they call it the Snoball Run it should be snowing when we are running. I knew when I saw them plowing the course that this one was going to be all about staying upright and off my butt.
I managed to slip and slide around the course while still having a good time. I’ve run this course before as there are a number of 5Ks that follow this route, but never in these conditions. After a week of crazy negative windchill it just felt good to get outside and run. I was getting cabin fever from running on the treadmill and in the gym.
My official time was 27:34 with an 8:54 average. That got me 11th out of 21 in my age. Overall I finished 96th out of an entire field of 303. Based on the road condition and snow flying in my face all the way I’m happy with the results.
